Information we collect

You can browse names and build an initial shortlist without an account. That unsigned shortlist is stored in your browser. If you create or join a baby space, we may store your email address, profile details, project settings, shortlisted names, rankings and votes, invitations, family updates, registry information, and the content you choose to submit.

We also receive basic technical and usage information, such as pages visited, referral source, device or browser details, and interactions with important product features. We use this information to operate, secure, understand, and improve the service.

How we use information

• To create and maintain your account and private baby spaces.
• To save shortlists, collect votes, and show results to authorized members.
• To send sign-in codes, invitations, voting reminders, and updates you enable.
• To prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve the product.
• To meet legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of our users.

Private spaces and sharing

Baby spaces are not public by default. Information inside a space is shared with the people its owner invites and according to the features the owner chooses to use. Be thoughtful about whom you invite and what personal information you add.

Cookies, browser storage, and analytics

We use necessary cookies for secure authentication and browser storage for features such as an unsigned shortlist. We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand site performance and product usage. When applicable, the Pinterest tag helps us measure whether Pinterest visits lead to meaningful actions. These providers may process device, interaction, and referral information under their own privacy terms.

Service providers

We rely on service providers to run Our Baby Name, including Vercel for hosting and analytics, Supabase for authentication and database services, and Resend for transactional email. We share information with them only as needed to provide and secure the service. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users and the service.

Data retention and your choices

We keep account and baby-space information while it is needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, meet legal requirements, and maintain security. You can manage optional email categories from your email preferences. You can clear an unsigned shortlist by clearing your browser storage.

To ask for access, correction, or deletion of your account information, email hello@ourbaby.name from the address connected to your account.

Children's privacy

Our Baby Name is intended for adults planning for or caring for a child. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when a change is material.
